My Daughter is growing up!

I just wanted to post a little tonight about Shelby. She is growing up so fast! I can't believe that in two years she will graduate High School! This last week I took her to the DMV to get her learners permit! She passed! So now we are really trying to teach her how to drive. She told me that she would rather drive with Dad because I make her nervous! She will learn and be a great driver. On Friday when she got in the car from school she handed me a paper and told me that her seminary teacher Brother Wilcox had asked her to be the seminary president. I was so proud of her! She really has taken a liking to seminary this year! She will do great at the president. Shelby, I love you and I want you to know how proud I am of you and what a beautiful daughter of God you are! Mom you don't look like a Grandma.

So this morning Mallory and I are in my bathroom getting ready for the day and she asked me, "Mom how old are you going to be on your birthday?" I replied to her "I am going to be 38" She says, "Wow thats a lot!" I told her that her mom is getting old! She sweetly replied, "Well mom you don't look like as old as a grandma!" I laughed so hard. Then she asked me "What kind of birthday are you having?" I told her that when you are as old as me you don't have a certain kind of birthday party. I am thinking she is going to tell me that I should have a Tangled or Dora party. I asked her if she had any ideas of what kind of party I could have. She replied, "How about a Percy Jackson party!" "Oh I don't really like Percy Jackson!", I told her. She said to me with a big grin of her face, "Ok how about Lady GaGa!" She is such a FUNNY GIRL!

So I have really been trying to start the New Year off with some goals that will help me to be a better me and also a better wife & mother. I often feel that I am living the best I can and sometimes I feel very inadequate. My needs of my family often come before the needs of myself (I am sure every mom feels this way too)! So my goals for this year is just to try and make better choices! I often find myself just eating and drinking too much DIET COKE (devils juice) just to get me through the day! So I can say that I have not had any Devils Juice for almost 3 weeks. It has been hard but I keep telling myself "you can do it!"
Another one of my goals is to write more on my blog. I would like to try and keep a personal/family journal on my blog and then print it into a book! Sounds like FUN! Wish me luck!!

I know it has been a really long time since I have posted on this blog, but I am going to try and be better! Three years ago today we finished off our family and was blessed to bring home a healthy baby girl. She has brought us so much love and laughter. She is a spit fire just like her oldest sister Shelby. She loves her daddy and also loves to be the boss of her siblings. Tessa is full of life and so fun to have in our family. I really can't believe that she is the big "3" today. Happy Birthday Tessa! We love you!

We had a fun time in June having the Anway Reunion at our house. Everyone enjoyed the pool and lots of great food. We didn't have our whole family there and we missed those who could not come, but we were so glad to have Aunt Brenda and her boys with their families. We played "Minute to Win it" games and ate lots of ice cream to try and keep cool. Here are a few pictures of our fun time.

Conner Is Twelve~

Ok I have really had a hard time wrapping my mind around the fact that Conner is now 12! He has grown up so fast and it is crazy to me. He has been so excited to get the Priesthood. All he talks about is passing the sacrament to our Bishop this next Sunday. Yesterday we had our family and friends over to do the ordination and then we had Sunday dinner. I just want to thank everyone for coming and supporting Conner. He is such a sweet young man and we are so happy that he now has the priesthood. I had the wonderful opportunity to be a part of a wonderful reunion. Roy is a member of our ward from Africa and he fled the country 6 years ago. I want to be a big girl!

Ok so a couple weeks ago Tessa decided that she needed a big girl potty. So potty chair + training pants = $25.00. She sat on it a couple of times and to my surprise she DID it. Hey for Tessa! And then she said I need a diaper. So I put a diaper back on her. So today, out of the blue, she says, I am going potty. So here we are again in the thick of potty training. I really did not have this in the plans today. Isn't she aware that if its not on the calendar, it DOESN'T happen. Wish us luck! She already has had 2 accidents but refuses to put on a diaper. She is so strong headed! Good Luck Tessa (or maybe its should be good luck to mommy!). :0)

Shelby had the opportunity to be in the play put on by the Queen Creek High School Drama. They have worked so hard on this play and it was a wonderful show. The story takes place in Egypt. It is a love story between an Egyptian Captain and the Princess of Nubia. Shelby's part was alot of dancing and a fashion show. The pictures below are of her fashion show dress. She did such a great job and we are so proud of the work she did. She has made some good friends and made lots of memories. We Love you Shelby and are so proud of you!

Ok , Mallory & Tessa have really been getting into stuff lately. First it was finger nail polish and now I have two wonderful spots on my carpet! Next, it is Shelby's make up! The funny part about it is that Mallory will do the dirty work and Tessa will come up stairs and say, "Look at my pretty toes mom!" Then Mallory will start crying and run to her room. Silly Girls! Ok I am not a very good writer, but I am going to try and tell this little story so that you can maybe feel the same way I did when my children & I were talking. It seems that you have quite the conversations when you are in the car driving across town for a dentist appt. My Mallory has been asking questions about dying lately. We have had a few talks about the resurrection and about Papa John. She has asked me "where was I when papa John died?" I then try to explain to her that she was in my tummy when papa John died. Her facial expression was kind of sad when she knew that she didn't "know" papa John. Today, she asked me "when you die do you get your same body and eyes?" Carson replied, "Yes Mallory it is called the resurrection." She then asked me again where she was when papa John died. I told her that she was in my tummy and then I tried to explain to her that when we die our spirits leave our body and go to heaven. So I told her that she was still in heaven and when papa John's spirit came to heaven she was able to meet him in heaven. As I looked at her she had a huge smile on her face. Then I heard this one word from Carson that made me cry! He looked at Mallory and said, "LUCKY!" This really hit my emotions. We are LUCKY to have the opportunity to have come from heaven, to go back to heaven, & to have the resurrection in our lives. I am so thankful for my children who teach me these simple lessons in life. I tried to drive, wiping away the tears. I love the Gospel and I know that someday Mallory will get to meet her papa John again. And I know that he will wrap his arms around her and she will feel of his love for her. I can't wait for that day and I too feel really LUCKY today :0)

Yes, I know it has been a long time since I have taken the time, which I really don't have, to blog. Life has been really crazy. Just trying to keep up with the kids, school, soccer, & church callings. The kids are all doing great. School is school. Soccer is fun. Kara (The Bulldogs) and Carson (the Wolf pack) are having so much fun. I will post pictures when I remember to bring my camera to the game :o) Church callings are good. Shane was released as a primary teacher and I was put in the primary (2nd Counselor over scouts)! Hooray! I am learning alot. Shane is still the financial clerk! Shelby is in a play at school and so she is always gone and busy with that. Conner is getting ready for baseball! He loves it so much! Kara & Carson are running up and down the field and enjoying soccer. Mallory is loving her preschool class that she now takes 3 days a week. And Tessa is just being a 2 year old, going around flushing the toilets. I think she might be ready to potty train! Oh no, how am I going to fit that in our crazy schedule. Anyways, life is good and we are all doing great! Hope this post finds you all doing great too!!!

Ok I am one of those moms who does not buy Halloween Costumes. I refuse to spend alot of money! In the past years I have loaded up my kids in the car and off we go to D.I. So through the years I have gathered a whole bucket of costume mix match stuff! Well, this year I was at the Dollar Tree and I came across this costume for Carson. I cost me a total of $3.00!! OK I know that I haven't blogged for awhile. The kids had October break and that was a little crazy. Shane's parents moved to Queen Creek and so we were really busy trying to help them as much as we could. I think I totally left my kids for an entire week. Shelby was such a good trooper and helped out with her brothers and sisters so much! In the middle of all of this, Shane had to go to North Dakota for 5 days! Oh my CRAZY!! So the rest of our break was just hanging with cousins and making a craft with Aunt Jonna. Now the kids are back in school and we finally have great weather. I am so excited for the holiday seasons that are just ahead of us. I love this time of year! Today is also Shane's Birthday! Mallory, Tessa, & I took him balloons and cupcakes to his work. The girls thought that was so fun! I hope he had a good day! I love him so much. He is truly my Best Friend! I'm not saying that sometimes we get on each others nerves, but I know that he loves me too for all my imperfections. I am so glad that I have him as an eternal companion! I have been contemplating for a few weeks on whether to get Tessa a "BIG" Bed. She really loves to take her naps in Mallory's bed, however when it is time to go to bed at night she just throws her body on the floor and screams! LOUD!! Anyways, I got a call from my mom this morning (who is in Logan UT) and she had been surfing Craigslist in my area. She told me about a toddler bed for sale in Mesa for $30! I called the lady and made a mad run to Mesa to pick it up! Then I had to go to Target and get her a cute bedding set for her "Big" bed. We came home and I washed it all down and made her bed and she is one Happy LITTLE girl in a BIG bed!! I can't believe that she is growing up so fast. Thanks mom for finding the deal of the day!

My children and I had the fun opportunity to go to the Wiltbank Family reunion over labor day weekend. I love to be in the mountains and my children look forward to it every year. There just is nothing better than being in the cool mountain air and beautiful trees talking with family and friends, playing card games, and eating lots and lots of yummy food. When I go to Eagar, I feel a closeness to by dad. I love to go to the cemetery and watch the grand kids pick wild flowers and line them up around his headstone. I also love the simply quick moments when I can talk about those loved ones who have passed on and teach my children about their heritage. I am sure that you all know that I have an emotional switch that I inherited from my dad. So as I stood there in the cemetery and looked around me I was surrounded by great grandparents, grandparents, father, sister, & cousins, I could not help but get emotional. All of these wonderful people has influenced my life and help me down the path. Some of them I have never met but I have hear stories and read journals about them. Some of them, like my father, has truly influenced me and raised me to be the person I am today. Today is dad's birthday. I so wish that I could wrap my arms around him today and wish him a Happy Birthday. What a wonderful person he is. My family misses him everyday, but we know that we will see him someday. As we left the cemetery some of my children were crying and I took that little simple moment to testify to them of the importance of the resurrection and how someday we will be able to be back with those who have passed on before us. We will have the opportunity to meet those members of our heritage and get to know them. I am so very thankful for the Gospel in my life and for the testimony I have of Eternal Families. It is hard to be away from them but it is just a short time of eternity. Happy Birthday Dad! I love you!

Hooray the Randall Pool is Finished!

We have been working for the last 2 months to complete our pool. The kids have been so excited to jump in. Every night when Shane would get home from work, all the kids would go out to see what was completed for the day. When we were at the reunion the pool was filled with water. My kids where anxious to get home so that they could get in the pool. Here are some pictures of the first swim in the pool. We can't wait until next summer so we can enjoy it all summer long.

Ok, I know that it has been a really long time since I have posted on my blog. I am trying to be better so here it goes. We had the best time at the reunion this year. It is so nice to be able to just sit in the woods and not worry about anything. My kids had so much fun playing with their cousins and also new cousins. They all put on their swim suits and played in the creek catching crawdads. They even auctioned off a bucket of crawdads and make $5.00. Well, I am just going to post some pics and let you enjoy them.

SUMMER BREAK IS HERE!!!!!

I have been really waiting for summer break. I am so tired of getting up to make lunches and make sure everyone has shoes on or can even find their shoes :0) Finally, it is here!!! We don't have too many things planed this summer. Grandma Debbie and Grandpa Randall are coming for 10 days! We can't wait to see them. My kids are counting down the days. Shelby is attending YW Conference with her cousin Chelsie! And then she will go straight to Girls Camp. She is so excited! Two days after Grandma and Grandpa leave we are loading up our kids and driving for a LONG 14 hours to see them in Utah. My kids are really excited to see where Grandma lives and also to take a family vacation. Soon after we get home school will start again! I really am having a hard time believing that my little Shelby is going to be in High School next year. I can't believe that she is old enough to do this! Conner will be in 6th grade, Kara is going into 3rd grade, & Carson will have the opportunity to do Kindergarten again :0) He is actually really excited about this! My children are growing up too fast and I don't know how to stop it. If anyone out there has a secret remedy or spell that will work will you please give it to me!! I love them so much. They are my life! Hooray for SUMMER!!!!!

Conner Troy is Eleven!!!!

Today is Conner's Birthday! I can't believe that he is 11. He is growing so tall and still is as skinny as a pole. He started baseball this last month and loves it. I really enjoy seeing Shane & Conner spending that time together. It is so good for them. They are really enjoying it. Conner is such a great part of our family! Our family has really enjoyed going to the field to watch his games. Happy Birthday Son!! WE LOVE YOU!!!!

Kara's Baptism

Today was Kara's Baptism. She was a little nervous but all went well. She was also so excited and has waited for this day for along time. She looked so pretty in her white dress. Ok I have not posted for along time! I have been really busy and just have not taken the time to sit down and post. Well, here it is. We have been crazy lately with birthdays & Kara's baptism. Carson turned 6 on March 29th. He was so excited to be getting bigger. Kara's birthday was April 4th. She turned 8! She will be getting baptized tomorrow! Shane & I celebrated our anniversary yesterday! Sixteen Years!!!! We went to dinner and then off to Costco and Walmart! I know it was really not that romantic! Conner's birthday is on Tuesday April 13th!! This time of year is really crazy for our family but I love it! We have had Birthday parties and ate lots of cake! I am so grateful that I have been blessed with such a wonderful family and husband. I hope I tell them enough everyday how much I love them!!!! I promise I will try and post more often!

Today is a sad but bittersweet day. I just posted about my heritage and how much I love my family. I am sad today because my Grandma Elda has left this earth. She is such a wonderful example to me and my family. I have learned alot of things from her. I will miss you! I love you Grandma Elda.

I have been thinking alot lately about my heritage! I was born to great parents and they raised me and taught me the importance of eternal families and the Gospel. I was also raised with wonderful examples around me. As I look at my own children I am so glad that they too have those same wonderful examples around them. As I am getting older it is harder for me to think about my life without my grandparents. Some of those sweet people in my life have already gone to the other side. Oh, how I miss them and sometimes wonder if I should have been better about learning more about them and spending more time with them. My Grandma Elda is still here and I don't know how much more time we will have with her. She is a strong lady however she is getting up there in her age and her recent fall has surely taken a toll on her body. My heart feels heavy today because I don't want her to go and I know that none of us have any control over that. It makes me think about what I need to do better in my life, for my husband, children, & family members. My Grandma Elda is such a great example of Christlike Love and she always serves other. I want to be just like her! I had some special times visiting with her while she was here in Mesa. If you asked her how she was doing, she would say "Oh, I am doing ok, but how are you?" And she always wanted to know how the kids were doing. I love her so much and I am truely blessed to have such wonderful grandparents in my life.

Ok I know this is a few days late, but I guess I still need to post about Tessa's 1st Birthday! I can't believe that she is already 1. Time really does fly by. She is so sweet and brings such a sweet spirit into our home. I really do long for her to stay little forever. I keep telling myself that she will be the baby forever. Ok I promise to at least have her potty trained by the time she hits school age :0) She had a pretty normal day on her birthday. Although I think she couldn't figure out why all the kids were singing to her all day! She just smiled and laughed at them. We had cake and ice cream and she got to open her one present! She got two puppets (a duck and a frog!). After we sang Happy Birthday to her I sat the cake on her tray and she went to town! I finally had to stop the fun when she was throwing cake across the room! I took a few pictures and tried to take a video of her. I will post them for Grandma and Grandpa Andersen to see and anyone else that is interested! Tessa sure is a sweet spirit and we enjoy her sooooo much! She brings lots of smiles and laughter to our home! Oh, and also the plumber who was fishing out a jumbo hair clip out of the toilet. I love to spend $55.00 for a plumber to come and fix what my 1 year old did! I am not liking to combination of Tessa and toilets right now! This too shall pass!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

As many of you know I am not a big Halloween person. I love to decorate my house with cute pumpkins but I just really don't like taking the kids trick or treating. We were invited over by the Biglers to go to our old stomping grounds for Halloween. We did have fun seeing old neighbors. I was really sad though to see that our old street was dark and quiet. Nobody was out doing a block party like we had in the past. We were truly blessed to live on that street and oh, the fun times we had. Well, now that Halloween is over, we can move onto Thanksgiving. I love the season of fall & winter. Christmas is right around the corner!! That is my favorite holiday ever!! I have really been thinking about my Grandma Elda lately. We went to visit her on Thursday and again on Saturday. She still has her humor. We laughed with her and had a good time. She is just so weak and fragile. I told Jonna the other day that I am not sure that I am ready for my last grandparent to pass away. I can't quite grasp my mind around the fact that at some point my mom will become the great-grandma and then that will make our generation the grandparents. Oh, my that is so scary! I do know one thing: I was born of goodly parents who raised me in the Gospel. They too were born of goodly parents. I am so grateful for my heritage and the ancestors that I have. I am thankful for their sacrifice so that I can raise my children in a free country. I love my family and I am thankful for what the Lord has blessed me with. I love my Savior. May we all try and remember those things we are Thankful for this Thanksgiving Season :0)

Fall Break has ended!

Well, our fall break was just alot of hanging out with Grandma Debbie and our cousins. We had days of movies, crafts, and eating sugar cookies. On Friday, we planned a "P" day. Everyone came over for pumpkin pancakes at 8! Then the kids went off to play and we adults sat and watched all about "Balloon Boy" on TV. What a waist of time! Anyways, for lunch we had Pizza. All the kids made their own pizza with pillsbury biscuit dough. They liked that. It was so much fun! We are so glad that we had this time to play with cousins and have Grandma Debbie here. I am glad that she came and was able to see all of us. We wished that papa could have come too, but we will be able to see them both at Christmas! We are excited :0)

Well, I guess I just need to say one last thing. "THANK YOU Randall for supporting Mom and being alone for 2 weeks so we could enjoy her. And thanks mom for spending time with us and having some special times with the grand kids. We all love you both and miss you terribly. I can't wait to have you closer to us :0) We love you lots.

She had the opportunity to be in the school play, GREASE! She has worked to hard and did such a wonderful job. Through this time she has made some great friends in the cast. She played the part of Rizzo. And yes, she has a great attitude to play this part. She also had a solo and she rocked :0) We are so proud of her. She is growing up to become such a great girl. Oh, Saturday afternoon! We were at home just hanging out trying decide if we wanted to make a Costco run. The little kids (Conner, Kara, & Carson) were in the front room playing (so we thought). All of a sudden Conner came running into the family room yelling "MOM". I often wonder why they never yell for dad. Anyways, Kara and Conner were wrestling. Conner just recently took a wrestling class at school and so he was showing Kara some moves! Well, she tripped and landed on his middle finger. It broke the top joint and when it did it also blew out his finger nail. So off we go to Urgent Care :) We were there for about 3 hours and then they informed us that we needed to go to a hand surgeon. He is located at St. Joe's Hospital in Phoenix. So we went by Grandma Randall's house and dropped the kids off. Then off we went to the hospital. Well, he ended up having to have surgery. The doctor put a pin in and wrapped it all up. We waited all evening and the surgery only took 10 minutes. Well, that's what we did for out weekend date! Conner is doing good and having to write with his left hand. He was brave and strong. Here are a few pictures! Oh I forgot to add that this is the second finger injury that Conner has had in his 10 year life. The first one was by his older sister Shelby. I told Conner that maybe he needed to stay away from his sisters :0) They are rough!

Well, today is my dad's birthday! I guess I wanted to just post a little something in remembrance of him. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think about my dad. He was truly a gentle giant. There are so many traits that he had that I want to do in my life. I guess there are three that come to mind. First, he had a very strong testimony of the Gospel. He studied and prayed everyday. He was always spending time to strengthen his testimony. He loved the Gospel. Second, he was a friend to everyone. I know that I have posted about this before, but he never turned his back on anyone. He always listened and understood. I remember him always helping those in need and somehow he would always teach them the Gospel. Third, my dad had patience. He was so loving, caring, thoughtful, and kind. He always spent the time to listen to your concerns and then teach you at the same time. When dad was still with us I think I took for granted that he was here. I wish I would have spent more time with him sitting and letting him teach me. I know that he is in heaven teaching and testifying of the truth fullness of the Gospel. I miss him so much! I just hope that I will be able to live my life the way he did and make an impact on others lives. I love you Dad! Happy Birthday!

I got a book from Pottery Barn the other day and I saw this organizer for your childrens study desk. I fell in love with it. So I started gathering supplies and I am still working on it. I wanted to post pictures to show my progress. So each board is for each one of my school kids. I am going to put magnetic and erase boards on them. My hopes is that this will help us to keep all the crazy school papers organized. So here is the first picture and I will post more when I get more done on it.

Every year there is a new song published for the primary program. This year the song is "My Eternal Family." It talks about being a builder and building our eternal family. The chorus is so cute and Mallory has learned it. So I thought it would be fun to put a video of her singing it on our blog. This is what she is saying: My Heavenly Father sent me here and he know I can be strong and righteous as I build my Eternal Family. She is so cute! She loves to sing! I asked her what an eternal family was and she said, "Um, I don't know" so I took that moment to explain to her that our family is eternal. I am grateful for little children who give us these moments of just sitting still and talking about important things in our lives. They are so precious !!

Our little Mallory is so aware of the world around her. She notices everything! And with this she also askes many questions. The other night I put her to bed and she started to cry. Like really hard! I ran to her room and she kept saying "I am scared! Monster in my bed!" I assured her that there was no monster in her room. She still continued to cry so I decided to turn off the light and then asked her again. "What are you scared of?" She was sitting up in her bed and she looked over her shoulder and there was her SHADOW! She had this horrible look on her face and was shaking. I decided to move the night light across to the otherside of the room. This helped for that night, however the next day we went to the grocery store and as I got her out of the car and stood her on the ground she started to scream. "My shadow, I am scared!" Well, we had to run into the store so that it would not get us :0) Then for the next two days she ran around the house crying because her shadow is going to get her. It has been a new thing at our house. We have never had any of our children be afraid of their shadow. Oh, how funny and different they all are!!

I was sitting this morning reflecting on my life and how much the Lord has blessed me. I was truely blessed 15 years ago when I married my sweetheart Shane. Then the Lord blessed us with a beautiful red headed little girl. She changed our lives forever (for the better of course!). Today that little girl is now 13! It is so crazy to me that she is that old. A TEENAGER! I am so proud of her and she is growing up to be such a beautiful young women. She is a great example to her siblings and those around her. She bringings us lots of happiness and joy. The Lord has also blessed us with 5 other beautiful children. Time goes by so fast and I know that it will be just around the corner when Tessa is 13. But for now I am going to try and sit back and enjoy all those little moments I can get. Shelby, I love you and I want you to know that you are so special to your Dad & I. The Fourth Of July in Eagar!

Well, we just got home from our trip to Grandma Elda's home for the 4th of July. The weather was so awesome. It would sprinkle a little and then it would be so nice the rest of the day. Tyson and April camped in Grandma's yard and he had it set up under the big pine and aspen trees. We ate all of our meals out under those trees and visited. It was so wonderful. We also got my dad's headstone set. It has been three years since dad left us and we have just not gotten his headstone done. But it is done and it looks so good. It was a little hard for me to be there. I miss him so much. It is a little hard to go home and see the home that you were raised in and not be able to go there. We had a BBQ at Uncle Bill and Aunt Marion's home and that was nice. They are so good to us and just let us invade their home. We also had the Anway family reunion at Aunt Brenda's home. My cousins Dusty and Stephanie were in charge. It was lots of fun. The kids played games and got wet. It was just such a nice weekend and we had so much fun visiting with family and friends. I have been thinking alot lately about my dad and how much I miss him. Tomorrow it will be three years since he passed on. I have often wished that I could turn back time and tell him that I love him again. I remember leaving Jonna's house the day before he died and I didn't take the time to wrap my arms around him and tell him that I loved him. I sit and replay in my mind that day at the hospital and how emotional it was for all of us (especially my mom). I know she misses him too!

Anyways I just want to post the poem that I wrote for his funeral program. I know that it is not the best written poem ever, but I prayed that day to my Father in Heaven that he would help me to write what was in my heart. I will always be grateful to Heavenly Father for sending me to earth to be raised by such wonderful parents. My mom & dad did everything they could so raise us in righteousness and to show us unconditional love. I just hope that I can live my life the way my father lived his. He truly was a man with a huge heart. He loved everyone, no matter what! He never judged anyone and welcomed everyone into our home. He would give you the shirt off his back and a meal to fill your belly. He loved to serve and was always so happy! I want to be just like my dad and I wish the world could be more like him too! I love you Dad!

I often wonder what Heaven is like.

Or the sight of a Christmas Tree?

Or maybe the smell of homemade apple pie?

Oh, how wonderful that will be?

You see that through the years I have seen

Little glimpses of Heaven

in the eyes of someone dear to me.

You see this someone is my Dad

and I'll tell you what I've seen.

Heaven is like long talks with dear friends.

And doing Missionary work.

Heaven is a listening ear to get you through the day

And singing funny songs that you will never forget.

Heaven is sweet little treats he gave to all the kids

And going for a ride on the mountain

just to see what we could see.

Heaven is like going fishing and bringing home a feast.

And going camping up on the hill come rain or shine.

Heaven is playing a card game

And swimming in Pete's Flume

Heaven is being pushed in the tire swing

so high you could touch the sky

And going to family reunions

to catch up on family ties.

Heaven was coming home and seeing his smile

And always getting a bear hug.

Heaven was the quality time we all had with our Dad

And all the homemade Christmas presents

he would make inside his shed.

Heaven is like the smile on his face

as he held each new grandchild.

And Oh how proud he is of all these little ones

His gentle touch and the love in his eyes,

I know I have not blogged for a few weeks, but I have been busy getting kids done with school! Today is the last day! I really don't know if I am excited or dreading the fact that we really don't have anything planned for the summer besides a few family reunions and lots of swim days. Hopefully my neighbor Nancy doesn't get too sick of us using her pool! Well, the kids did really well is school is year. Shelby and Conner both made the honor roll. Kara received a few award, one was for perfect attendance! She is also going to do a few weeks of summer school. Her teacher asked the class if there was anyone who would be interested in doing summer school and yes her hand went straight up! She loves school! So anyways that is about all that is going on in our lives. Just trying to keep the fort upright! Hope all is well with everyone!

No Macaroni & Cheese for Lunch!

Well, I don't know if you know this about my Carson ! He LOVES Mac & Cheese! He eats this everyday for lunch! Well, today was different for some unknown reason! I asked him what do you want for lunch and he usually would respond mac & cheese, but today he said,"I really don't like mac & cheese. I want chicken nuggets. Anyways I just thought that this was a great day! I didn't have to make mac & cheese. I can seriously make it in my sleep! :)

Mom picked a Bikini out of the Garden!!

Yesterday was an exciting day! We finally picked the first vegetable out of the garden. I came inside to show everyone and the excitement grew. Carson went running down stairs and said to Shelby "Mom got a Bikini out of the garden!" We all got a pretty good laugh out of that! So far the gopher has not got to any of the plants yet. We hope that it will continue to grow lots of food!

Today we took a trip to Costco! We got all of the groceries and we sat down to eat a famous Costco hot dog! Carson was sitting across the table from me and he said, "Mom I am cold!" He asked to use Tessa's blanket and wrapped it around himself. He then asked me "Why do I have bumps on my arms and legs?" I then explained to him that those are goose bumps and that is the way your skin reacts to cold. After sitting there a little while longer, he said to me, "Mom I wish my speed bumps would go away!!" I laughed out loud and I think everyone in the food court was wondering what was so funny! He is so full of it! I love some of the things he comes up with. Although, sometimes when he asks question that are followed by "but WHY?" I have to be honest that I want to climb a tree and hide!

It is that time of year again! Carson started the birthday celebrations on March 29th. He turned 5 years old! It is hard for me to believe that he is five. He is so sweet and such a joy to have in our family. He will start Kindergarten in Aug. CRAZY! Next, we have Kara's Birthday! She turned 7 on April 4th. She is getting so big. She is such a help to me and loves to hold Tessa! She is an awesome big sister! We went to Gilligan's Island at the Queen Creek Performing Arts Center with a group of her friends and siblings. It was so fun. Today is Conner's birthday! He is 10 today! I can't believe that he is in double digits. He is also such a joy to have in our family. He is always willing to help and has such a sweet spirit. Shane & I are so lucky to have wonderful kids who love each other and are happy and might I add sometimes stubborn! They do keep us busy but we would not want it any other way! We hope that they all have wonderful birthdays and are so glad that they chose to come to our home!

The innocence of a five year old

Yesterday we went to walmart and as I was parking the car, Carson asked me why we have to go to the doctor sometimes? I told him that we have to try and keep our bodies healthy and that the doctor helps us do that. He then told me that one day he wants to grow up to be a doctor. Mallory (who is a copy cat to Carson) said " I want to be a doctor too!" Carson then replied well you will just have to be my assistant. She agreed and off we were on our Walmart adventure.

Then today Carson asked me "Mom when is Papa John coming back to the earth?" I explained to him that I did not know for sure when he was coming back but he would come when Jesus came. I then told him that because we don't know when they are coming we need to make sure that we are good and choose the right all the time. He looked at me and said "Well mom, you don't choose the right all the time!" Nothing like a wake up call from a five year old. I then asked "Why do you say that?" He said "Well you say naughty words all the time!" OK, how do I respond to that. I said "What naughty words?" Then I thought do I really want to ask that question. His reply was well you always say "no Carson" or "don't do that" or "Not right now" Boy I was so relieved that he really didn't know bad words. He is so Cute!

Back to our Walmart Adventure (we have alot of these!) Shane & I celebrated our 15 year anniversary today. Boy how time flies when you are having fun (or might I say CRAZY life!) Anyways, I was walking around Walmart and I asked my sister in law April "What you do get someone who you have been married to for 15 years. Carson spoke up and replied "Maybe you should get him a new BRAIN!" We laughed so hard at him! Anyways, We ended up getting Shane the Wii Fit. I am sure the kids will enjoy it more than Shane. Shane was so sweet and got me 15 red roses delivered to the house. They are so beautiful. He is so sweet and I don't tell him enough how much I love him! Fifteen years ago was the day that I made the best decision of my life. He truely is my best friend and I love him! (Did I already mention that I LOVE HIM!) HaHaHa :)

Happy Birthday Carson!

It finally came! Carson has been waiting for a life time to have his birthday! He had a wonderful day! We had all of the cousins on the Randall side over for Sunday dinner & cake and Ice cream. He got a birthday card from grandma & grandpa Andersen, a lego set from the Randall Family, & a sprinkler from mom & dad! Oh, so much fun! I can't believe that he is five! He will start school this year. Oh, how the time flys! He is such a sweet part of our eternal family. His personality and spirit is always so sweet and kind. We love his big smile and his big hugs! The Lord truely blessed us with such a sweet little boy! We love you Carson!

Soccer! Hey its over!!!!

Soccer is now over. Well it has been for a few weeks but I am just getting pictures on the blog. Shane & I decided to sign all four of our kids up for soccer, and during this time have a baby too! What were we thinking? It was a really crazy time with pratices and games every saturday! But somehow we did it! Will we do it again? NO! Shelby really didn't care for soccer but she stuck it out. Conner & Kara really enjoyed playing. Conner is pretty fast and scored a few goals in the season. Kara really liked her coach and had fun. Carson, well lets just say that he was more interested in what he was going to have as a snack after the game. Towards the end of the season he did get a little more into the ball. Oh, what fun times!

Well, as you can see I have not posted for a long time. I guess I have been busy trying to figure out a new schedule with a new baby! Oh, so fun! The last 2 months has been so fun! Tessa sure does bring a sweet spirit into our home! I was sitting on the couch with her the other day and Conner came up to her and kissed her on the cheek and said "Tessa, I am so glad you came to our house, you brought so much love with you!" He is so sweet with her. I do believe that she was sent to us from Heavenly Father and before she left his presence Papa John kissed her and she brought with her his love for each one of us! We have had alot of night time talks about papa John. My kids have really been missing him lately. We pray every night that we will feel of his love. And we have!
We were so lucky to have Grandma Debbie come and visit us for awhole month! I just want her to know how much we enjoyed having her here. She was a big help to me and my kids loved having her here. I know that it was hard for Randall to have mom gone that long, and I just want him to know that I love and appreciate him. He has truely been a wonderful blessing to our family. He was able to come visit on Valentine weekend, we had a wonderful valentine party with our whole family. Tyson set up his DJ equipment and we had a dance. I had a hard time controlling my emotions when I saw my mom and randall dancing. I don't remember as a kid seeing my parents dance. I know he loves my mom and I am so grateful for him! We miss you both and want you to know that WE LOVE YOU!

Heavenly Father has truely blessed us again with a sweet little spirit. She is so precious and soft.
I have been totally involved in just holding her and remembering the sweet feel of a newborns skin. She was born on January 20th @ 9:24 p.m. She weighed 8lbs. 1 oz. and 20 inches long. She has a little round head and a round face too. She also has RED hair. We are so excited about her hair color because now we have 3 red heads and 3 blondes. I am so thankful to my Heavenly Father for sending us this little one. She is truely a joy and we are having so much fun.

Hello everyone!
We are just trying to get back in the groove of school and homework again! Also, anticipating the arrival of our new little baby girl. I am due on Jan 25th, however my doctor said he would endues me a week early. So that is this week! I have an appointment today and we will see how that works out. The soccer season started and so we are really busy with that. Shelby, conner, kara, and carson are all playing. I really don't know what we were thinking signing them all up and having a baby? Anyways, they enjoy it and it is good for them to have something to do! Well, I really don't know what else to tell you about whats going on with our family right now. Just really waiting for this baby to come! I think my kids and my husband are both wondering why mom is so grouchy and emotional too! But hopefully it will all be over soon! We are so excited to have another child in our home and love the feeling that it brings to our house too!

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Pretty Crazy, but it was lots of fun! We all met at Jonna & Daryl's house and had dinner (Haystacks). Then we decided to load all the kids onto a trailer and go caroling. It was raining and very cold. Chelsie & Shelby got us some big umbrella's and blankets and we tried to keep warm! Jonna & I were remembering the times as children when we would leave the seminary building and get on the trailer to go caroling only there was lots of snow on the ground and it was down right cold! But I also remember as a kid how rewarding it was to see the smiles on people's faces and the tears in their eyes as we sang about the Savior and Christmas! Even though we were cold last night we also were able to see the smiles on their faces and the tears in their eyes. It was so much fun! Then we headed back to the house and we had dessert & hot coco! We called Grandma Debbie & Randall on the phone and sang to them too! To finish up the night we had a Christmas ornament exchange and played "Dirty Santa"! The evening was lots of fun and we enjoyed being with each other! We hope that this Christmas Season your family will feel the Love of our Savior. Merry Christmas!

Yes it is that time of year! Christmas Concerts!! Kara & Conner had their performances last night. Lets just say that there was alot of people and we were stacked in the cafeteria like legos. The Randall's Merry Christmas Letter!

Well, I guess I decided that this year we would do a Christmas letter on our blog. We have been so busy with kids stuff and Christmas, and don't forget expecting another baby that this is all there is! So I just wanted to write a letter and let you all know how our family is doing! I guess I will start from the top and go down!
Shane- He is really busy with work. His efforts to get a branch opened in Arizona has finally paid off. We are excited to report that it will open in Feb. He also was called to be the Scout committee chair in our new ward. Yes I did laugh about this until I cried. For all of you who know Shane, he is NOT a camper! I just really found humor in this calling. He will do a fine job. The kids keep us really busy and Shane is such a great dad and husband!
Shelby- She is busy with school and Young Womens. Shelby has made some good friends at school and she is getting A's & B's. She is really doing an awesome job at school! She loves YW and enjoys going to activities every week. She will be starting soccer soon and is looking forward to that.
Conner- He is in the fourth grade and enjoys school alot. He also enjoys playing football in the house with Shane. He is such a good big brother and loves to play with the kids. Conner & Carson love to get on the computer and play star wars together. Conner is also involved with scouts and loves doing that as well.
Kara- She is in the First grade. She really enjoys school. Her teacher tells me that she is the best student in the class. She also loves to play with her sister Mallory. They play school, church, and baby dolls alot. Kara is so sweet and we have so much fun having her in our family.
Carson- Well, Carson! He is really into Lego's, Star Wars, & Star Wars! Anything that Conner does Carson Does! He sometimes gets bored with mom at home, but he is such a good boy! The other night I sent him to brush his teeth and he used BenGay instead of toothpaste. Boy that was fun! What a crazy time! Anyways, he is so fun and sweet!
Mallory- Well the baby of the family for about another month. She is at such a fun age. She loves to color, play with her new baby "Abby". And she really likes to tell Carson what to do! She cannot say the word "Carson" so she started calling him "Buddy" it is so cute to hear her say that. She is at such a fun age! She loves to explore, play with her toys, and most of all she loves to READ! ALL THE TIME!!!
Me- Well, not a whole lot going on with mom. Just being really pregnant and tired. Trying to keep up on housework, homework, and laundry. Not much else to say other than I would love to get a personal cook, toilet cleaner, and laundry lady for Christmas! I guess I better not get my hopes up too high!!!

We hope and pray that this Christmas Season will find your families full of Love, Happiness, Hope, & Peace. May we all remember our Savior this Season and all year through. He has given us so much to be grateful for. We have a wonderful Family, & Great Friends. We wish you the very best this Christmas Season and through the next year.

I can believe that Mallory is two years old today!
Time fly's so fast! She is such a sweet child and brings

birthday present this morning. She got a baby doll! She named it
Abby! Happy Birthday Mallory! We Love you Lots!

The Stockings were hung!

Okay I am still learning about this blog thing and this is now the third time I have posted this. So here it goes!

We have been working hard to get all the Christmas stuff up this year. It has felt a little crazy. As I got to the stocking I realized that I don't have a stair case anymore to hang stockings on. Tyson & April had given us a stocking board a few years back and so I decided to redo it and make a space for all FIVE of your kids. Anyways, I was telling Grandma Debbie about it and she wanted to see pictures. So here they are. Hope all is wel with everyone and Merry Christmas!

Yes, that is true! I sent the kids in tonight to brush their teeth! I was cleaning the kitchen and all of a sudden I hear Carson screaming. I go running (well if you would call it running being 8 months pregnant) into my room and he had grabbed the tube of bengay and brushed his teeth with it. I have to admitt I was a little mad at my other kids for not watching him a little better, but we called the poison control and the sweet lady informed me that he will be fine! Just going to have a hot mouth for a little bit! Oh, the joys! All is well!

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree!

We finally got the tree up and decorated! Boy, it seems like this year it has taken us extra long to get the decorations up on the house. The kids have begged me all week to get it done! Finally on Thursday night we got everyone around the tree and the kids put on the ornaments. It is very pretty and I am sure will probably not be taken down until the end of Jan or the beginning of Feb. Maybe we will just add some hearts to it and call it the "Love Tree"! Here are a few pictures of us decorating. Hope all is well with your families. We had a ward Christmas Breakfast this morning and our Bishop encouraged us to sing a Christmas song every night before we say our family prayers. I really thought this was a wonderful idea. Maybe we could all try this. May we all have a wonderful Christmas and remember to put Christ first this season!

Well, another year of stuffing ourselves to the top! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day! Lunch was at our house. We had so much food that I think we could have feed the whole town. Mom & Randall were still here. Packing up a truck to go to Logan the next day. Thank you Randall for all the times you washed the dishes. He is really good at that! I also caught him reading a book to Mallory! Busy Beaver! I had all my siblings here for Thanksgiving and their families. It was nice to have everyone together. We also had my Uncle Charles, Aunt Stacey, & my cousin Lafe and his sweet family. What a wonderful day it was! Then later that evening we went to the Randall Family Dinner. So needless to say we were STUFFED!!!! We are so thankful for the many things that we have been blessed with. We have five beautiful, healthy children, who keep us moving everyday! We have such wonderful family and friends! We hope this Christmas Season that all is well with your families and that the spirit of Christmas feels your homes.

I have really been thinking lately about my friends and family. The people who influence myself and my family everyday! Oh how lucky I am to have such great people in my life. The last couple of months has really opened my eyes to this topic. I have a dear friend who was diagnosed with cancer. She was a wonderful mother to eight children and she just was a shining example to me. She was always involved in her children's lives and also in the church. She was my neighbor when we lived in Gilbert. And we had lots of fun times. This horrible disease took her very fast. She lived for three months and fought a hard fight. She has gone to be with our Father in Heaven but I know that she has taught me and many others lots of lessons. My life has been truly impacted from knowing Shelley Conway and she will never know how many lives she has touched. I pray everyday that the spirit of our loving Father in Heaven will be with her wonderful husband and their eight children. May we all remember to hold our children and take time for those little moments of reading a book or playing a game with them. They are so precious and need our time and love.

HEY LOOK WHO'S 40!!

Well, Shane is finally the big 40! We had a suprise party for him on Oct. 18th. It was lots of fun! The house was full of people and we had lots of food! However, it did take Shane an hour longer to get home so we all waited patiently! He said he knew something was up but I don't think he knew how many people were going to be there. Thank you all for coming and helping us celebrate this event. He is my best friend and a wonderful husband and father to our beautiful almost six kids. I don't think I tell him enough how much I love and appreciate all he does for me. I hope that when he turns 95, you all will come back and we will have a huge party! HALLOWEEN 2008

Well, another Halloween gone CRAZY!! It seems like every year this day creeps up on me and I am not prepared! So this year we just got out the Halloween Bucket and put together what we thought were Costumes! I have posted the few pictures I have THANKS to Aunt April! Carson decided to dress up as Davy Crockett from outer space! I do not know where that came from but I was too tired to fight him! Conner put together at the last minute a headless horseman costume and most of the time did not wear to plastic pumpkin on is head! (OH, WEll) Kara was a witch and she was so busy playing the games that there is not a picture of her. Mallory was dressed up like a cute girl in Halloween Clothes. I think sometimes they are just too little to fight over a costume. Anyways, we ended up going to Tyson & April's ward party and had lots of fun! Good job on putting together that party Ty & April! We got lots of candy and everyone had a great time! Halloween wrapped up for another year! HURRAY!!!!

Hello from The Randall Bunch.
I decided that I don't keep in touch with our family enough and so here is our blog. We are having a wonderful summer and swimming alot in our pool. I will give you a run down of what the kids are up to.
* Shelby- She just finished sixth grade. She will be turning 12 on July 22nd. Girls Camp here she comes! She is very excited.
*Conner- He just finished 3rd grade and is excited to start basketball camp this month.
*Kara- She made it through kindergarden and loved it. She told me that she wants to grow up and be a school teacher. She is having lots of fun swimming and playing with her friends.
*Carson- Just keeps us all busy. He loves to play pirates, legos, and watch cartoons. He is so fun!
*Mallory- She is almost 18 months and going into nursery. She is getting quite the personality. She is also lots of fun!
